Web cam doesn't work while Windows Live (8.5)

When I try to show my web cam it will not work. But when asked for a 'video
call' i sometimes works'....my ACER orbicam says that it is in use by another
program only when Windows Live is running.

I was hoping to get some answers in why my webcam will not work when using
Windows Live Messenger....It used to work before I was forced into Live...I
really wish I could go back.

Please help!

If you are using Vista take all your pictures out of the pictures folder and
put them in another folder then restart your computer and try your camera
again.

I'm running Windows XP Media Centre. It will work if Windows Live is closed
or offline but not when the Windows Live Messenger contact screen is open.
