Web sites locking up

On occasion I cannot exit web sites. The only alternative is to restart the
computer, or open another new tab. Task Manager will not even show a web
site open. Any ideas?

1. The answer to the First and Second Questions of Troubleshooting:

The First Question Of Troubleshooting: what changed between the time things
worked and the time they didn't?

The Second Question of Windows Troubleshooting: what is the malware/virus
status of the machine? If you think it is clean, what programs (and
versions) did you use to determine this?

Be sure the computer is clean:

2. What browser/version? Does this happen when using all browsers or just
one particular browser? Which one?

3. If Internet Explorer, try running IE with no add-ons:
Run IE7 without add-ons - Start > Run>iexplore.exe -extoff [enter] OR
Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools>Internet Explorer (No Add-ons)
