webcam not working in msn suddenly

I am in DESPERATE need of help i feel like i've tried everything.

My Chicony webcam was working fine in video calls etc in msn, all of a
sudden today when i try and send webcam it freezes my msn and a box pops
up saying this program has stopped working, windows will close the
program and notify you if there is a solution.
I've tried uninstalling drivers and pretty much everything else i've
seen suggested on this website but nothing is working.
Also when i open the webcam on its own now and go to record it records
but only shows a black screen, don't know if thats relevant.

PLEASE HELP!
