Webcam Pixelated (distorted)

I have Vista 64 at home and XP pro SP3 at work. Nortons on both. DSL on both.
I use a Logitech Webcam 9000 Pro on both. My GF has a laptop and I don't know
the particulars, but we have the same problem. For the last 3 or 4 weeks, not
sure exactly when it started, our web cams have been intermittently distorted
or pixelated. I think it started with WLM 2009 upgrade. I have build
14.0.8089.726. This is getting very frustrating. I tried temporarily stopping
the Firewall in Nortons at home but it made no difference. I do not use
Windows Firewall. I have searched and searched for answers.

Thanks for any help

What is both of your Internet speeds?
Can you raise the cameras to higher resolution (usually speed/quality
trade off)

Greetings Danny,

What version were you using before? And is the pixelation just pixelation, or is there
pink/magenta parts to it?

I admit I don't really have a particular solution for you, I'm just wondering how this
compares to other things I've heard/seen before.

Danny15709,
You and your GF may need to go your webcams manufacture's websites and see
if there are any new driver updates for your webcams. Make sure you get the
right drivers for the cameras, based on the OS installed on the PCs.

I personally had to revert back to Live Messenger 8.5, the 14.xxx versions
do not work properly for me, for the audio and video features.
Dell Dim E521 AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ (Dual core)
XP MCE (2005) w/SP3 still using IE6
3 GB RAM
7600 GT NVIDIA Video Card (256MB)
Comcast in SE Mich (8-12 Mb/sec service)

Try ooVoo. Free for two users.
'Free Video Chat and Video Conferencing from ooVoo'

I seem to get excellent video quality.
