I am usin Windows Live Messenger 8.1 and I would like to know if:

a. I start a video call or if I show my webcam to one of my contacts, can
anyone else view my webcam without my knowledge or permissions?

b. A copy of the video session is recorded and saved in MSN or Microsoft’s
web server?

c. My video call or video session is totally private?

Waiting for your response
Thanks & Regards…

Yes. You should have the security needed to avoid this.

Don't be bloody stupid.

Of course not, you're using the Internet, a public network.

The chances that anyone is snooping your packets, or even cares, are
very unlikely.

Well CORK, thanks for your reply, however it was not appreciated to write
such thing like “bloody stupid”, and FYI I know that internet is a public
network.
Now why I am concern about this privacy issue is because I am running an IT
company and I have competitors and most of the times I need to make video
calls to speak about business staff, so I want to be sure that the service
offered to us is secure and having a proper level of privacy.

Hi,

It's not encrypted, but certainly the possibility of someone intercepting a video call and
decoding it is pretty minimal.

If encryption over voice/video is important, I'd suggest using Skype.

Clearly you are either a liar, or you are an idiot. Anyone who knows
ANYTHING about IT would know that Windows Messenger does not encrypt
their video, nor do Microsoft keep copies of the video!

You've never even heard of a man-in-the-middle attack!

Your customer(s) need to seek to a proper IT company.

If you, who claims to be an "IT company" who does not understand the
basic principles of security OR Microsoft (the biggest market player),
your customers are in for a very troubled existence.

Have you installed SP3?

Unless you tell your "customers" that you don't understand the
basic principles of Internet security, and yet claim to offer them the
best service, you are in fact breaking the law, because you are a liar.

This is their evidence.

Thanks cork, you are the best evidence that idiots still there among us, if
it’s up to me I would give you the global award for being a stupid head and a
shitty mouth at the same time, congrats man, and regarding my knowledge and
my customers it’s none of your damn business.
Now let me conclude my message by saying that “no one asked you to reply me
in the first place” so “Shut up, you bloody idiot”.
Note: don’t bother replying.

See, you're a complete idiot! You have proven you haven't got a ****ing
clue, and your response? "I haven't got a clue!"

Your customers have the right to know you're an idiot and a clown.
