webcam vx3000 compatability problems between xp home and vista

windows live messenger with two webcams vx3000 in video conversation from bc
canada to chicago illinoise..is all but impossible..difficult to connect..and
if connects..limited conversation time before picture freezes and usually
call ends abruptly.. after one of the partys replaced older laptop with xp
home to new laptop loaded with vista.. We had problems from day one. we went
back to their older laptop with xp..and problem went away...seems to be a
compatability issue with vista and xp..been to every microsoft site I can
think of..with no luck..can anyone help..
