webpages can't be printed or copied

I'm using WinXP and IE8. I've encountered an occasional webpage that I can't
print (Print Preview acts as though the page is there, but what prints is
blank). Today I was at a webpage that I couldn't highlight at all, so I
couldn't copy any of it, and I couldn't print a selection from it.

Is there any way to overcome this kind of blocking?

Thank you!

The webpage developer can write code that says the page can't be copied or
printed. Most pages ARE NOT written to prevent you from copying the content,
so if you can copy and print the content from, for example, yahoo.com but
not from acmewidgets.com, then acmewidgets has used blocking code to keep
you from taking their content, and this isn't an IE8 "problem."

Thank you, Jeff. I didn't think it was an IE8 problem. I simply wondered if
there was a workaround.

You might be able to do a Print Screen to print what you can see, but this
is very clunky on a good day, and gets worse if there are many pages. I
don't know if a developer can prevent you from doing a print screen, or not.
I think not. But that's the only work around that I can think of.

Thank you, John! It looks like Snagit is highly rated, but it costs $50--and
I'd use it only when I couldn't get the screen any other way. You've given
me the idea to check other screen capture programs, though.

Thank you, Jeff! John mentioned a particular screen print program that can
print the whole page, not just the part showing. I'm going to check out some
others of that sort (the one he recommended was a bit expensive).

Thank you, Anthony! I'm going to look into some of the more complex screen
printing programs. That might do it.
