website not set up to establish connection with WWW service (HTTP)

Hi, first time posting here.

Well, I'm having similar problem with this thread

I have Vaio laptop with Vista home premium.
I also have symantec antivirus installed.
Its been working great untill about a week ago.

I CAN connect to internet either by wireless, or ethernet. (I can us
MSN messenger to connect and chat with others)
However, when I try to use IE7 or firefox, I can't browse ANY websit
at all.
During the IE7's network diagnotic, I receive a messege of "website no
set up to establish connection with WWW service (HTTP) "

I uninstalled Vista SP1, symantec, but the problem still persists.

Please help

Hi,

Try flushing the resolver cache. Close all browsers. Click start and type
CMD. Right click the start menu entry and choose 'run as administrator'.
From the prompt, run:

ipconfig /release
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /renew

Close the command window and retry the sites.
