Websites won't "Remeber Me"

I have Windows 98SE.
After a recent update to IE6 SP1 with Q905915 & Q313829, I have to sign in
to every website after I close my browser even though I click "remeber me".
Before the update, never had to do that, all sites logged me right back in
day after day. I now have "Privacy Report" on my "View" tab, it says "no
cookies were restricted or blocked" and I've even set my privacy settings to
"Accept All Cookies" to no avail. I've added the sites to my "Favorites"
folder, still nothing. I do not have virus protection running, no firewall. I
have done virus scan (no virus) and spyware scan (no spyware). I've deleted
cookies, temp files, reboot, scandisk, SFC etc etc.
If someone can please give me a clue as to what's going on, I would
appreciate it very much.
