I'm running Vista Home Premium in a Virtual PC virtual machine. I just
installed latest updates from windows update then installed sp1.

When you open the welcome center - details form one of the items displayed
is the brand, model and speed of the CPU. Before installing sp1 this was
correctly displaying the CPU information consistently. After installing sp1
it is consistenly displaying the speed incorrectly and after every restart it
displays a different wrong speed. This issue is also visible in the 'system
information' form.

Right at this minute it is displaying -140464010 MHZ for an AMD 64 X2 5200+
CPU.

Seems like something in sp1 has gotten a bug recursion.

Anyone else noticed this issue?

SP1 is not released to the public until March; you have the Beta.
