Not sure if anyone will be able to make anything of this, but it's strange
enough that I feel like asking just in case...
For a long time (perhaps two years?) Windows XP was unable to access certain
NNTP servers, at least from my part of the company's internal network. Other
NNTP servers were fine, and meanwhile Windows 2000 never had any problem
accessing any of the NNTP servers. Some months ago, I think something was
changed in the network configuration, and all of the NNTP servers became
accessible.
However, there was still one weird glitch remaining for OE under WXP. It
would download the headers properly, and clicking on any header would cause
it to download that message as expected. However, the next day, OE would
forget that the message had ever been downloaded. Since installing SP2, that
glitch has gone away. (Probably not related, but I am running the Japanese
version of everything.)
What's it all about, Alfie?
(Query somewhat shotgunned, but follow-ups set to the OE newsgroup.)
