I have a weird folder under Local Disk/users/myname called:
{bd85e97f-d63c-40fc-8915-0b1859d829e3}

Is this folder needed? If not can I delete it?

Thanks

It's most likely a temp folder used by installing of some program. It

Put it in the recycle bin. Reboot. If all is well, empty the recycle bin.
