On occasion, while conducting an operation such as opening a folder,
clicking to open a program, etc., Microsoft 2007 professional (office)
begins to install through windows installer, goes through some gyrations,
then tells me the installation cannot continue. I never asked it to
continue, nor even begin. Not only do I not want this program to open or
install I don't even have it on my machine, at least I cannot find it.

Anyone know what I can do to stop this annoying event? It happens a couple
time per week without fail. I have gone through the registry with a fine
tooth comb and am missing something I would like to delete.

Thank you,

T

Did your machine come with a trial version that was removed?
It sounds like some type of file you are opening is linked to Office and
Windows is trying to install the program to open it.

You may have a pre-installed trial version of Office. If so, remove it.
