Weird problem, Vista and MS Office

There are some applications, when started, will first bring up an exe.
program wanting to install MS Office, an old version that I once had on this
puter and later uninstalled. Any way of stopping that from happening, it
can be annoying. Thanks.

May or may not help, but first stop is here ...

There isn't enough information. You may have to re-install those other
programs.

Occasionally, going ahead and letting the installer run will resolve the
issue.

More than likely, you have a corrupted Office install
Uninstall Office, run the cleanup utility and then reinstall Office.
