Same thing here. What's with these people. Trying to get rid of paying
customers?
Don't plan to install.

I installed but it still shows the same date 4/25/2006, review your update
is May 31, 2006.

You're right! I just went to WU and, by George, WGA IV is now out. This
is really ridiculous!

i've installed, what claims to be this update, dozens of times, no indicated
problem or other update problems, shows up in addd/remove ok, this can't be
by design. i can tell you am getting really sick of this and have had to
resort to turning the automatic update system off.
anyone else having this?

I installed the darn thing, or rawther tried to it failed twice. I cannot
find any reference to it on the microsoft update download page. My computer
told me to day that my software was not genuine for some reason. I went to
microsoft and verified it and it is fine. So I do not recommend installing
this thing (for whatever my opinion is worth)

What was the nature of the failure? This might be important, and might
explain the subsequent difficulties.

Go to the Windows Update or Microsoft Update website, click "Review your
update history" and locate the most recent entry for 905474. If it failed,
there should be a red cross in the Status column. Click on the red cross
and a popup should appear giving an error code and diagnostic information,
which you should copy into a follow-up in this thread.

If no popup appears when you click the red cross, then disable all
third-party popup-blockers, such as Google toolbar, anti-virus, or
third-party firewalls, and try again.

I had a similar problem. When I did what you said I got: Error Code:
0x800706BE. Is there a way to remove the update, then re-install it, or fix
it somehow.

Thanks.

This is all that was in the window, like Luke I have the same error code,
the resources listed for support have no reference to the KB905474, in fact
this is the only place that I have found with any reference to the update at
all.
