Hello:

I find the following in today's Windows Updates:

Windows Genuine Advantage Notification (KB905474)

I had already installed this update last February 20th.

Is there a reason it's being issued again?

Is this a less obtrusive version of that update, or is it merely redundant?

Hi Engel:

I looked thru that site, but it didn't address the reason for repeating the
KB905474 update,since one with that name is laready installed.

The article referenced pertains to a different update:
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892130

Is the new update to:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905474

advantageous? Or is it just more of a nuisance?

Updated versions of 905474 (WGA Notification tool) are released
periodically, apparently as part of Microsoft's effort to better detect
pirated Windows versions. Installing any version of it is purely optional.
