It's still an issue in the UK and who knows where else.

Anyone having a validation issue with Vista or XP should visit
http://www.microsoft.com/genuine/
and click on "Validate Windows" to reset the WGA file.

The problem reported from the UK is an activation problem (same sh¡t as
WGA but with a different smell). No connection to the server and the
phone line to phone activate doesn't work. See xp.general for details
where NO ONE has a solution, not even you.

Noticed the carefully crafted response, Microsoft of course true to
form never really accepts responsibility. At best they say "It's
unfortunate this happened to users with genuine systems". Blame it on
human error.

Lucky for Alex Microsoft is located in Redmond Washington. If
Microsoft was a Japanese corporation Alex would have been expected to
bow deeply to his superiors, beg forgiveness, go home, say good bye to
his family and quietly in the bathroom fall on his sword...literally,
for bringing disgrace and dishonor to the company he worked for. If
Microsoft was a Chinese corporation they would have put Alex on trial,
find him guilty in about a couple hours, then take him out in the
parking lot and promptly execute him on the spot.

ROTFLMAO!

Maybe you should be more "on-topic".
The topic was WGA, not product activation.

From an XP user who posted this at xp.general:

"I have cloned a XP build PC using ghost. Same process and image as
around 100
pcs in our business.
First thing I do is activate it (as indeed I have to as the 30 days has
lapsed since it was cloned).
This has worked great up to today. However for the last one, it said the
internet wasn't available - it was - I've checked the LAN connection and
indeed am ghosting another PC as I type this. The fallback, phoning
Microsoft
to activate it over the phone is unfortunately not working either - the
number 0800 018 8354 (on the screen from the UK) is unavailable.
Any ideas when this will be available? Thanks"

I'll check and see if you've helped this XP user or not.

Same sh¡t with a different smell. Server problems. Phone activation
problems. Why should paying customers have to put up with this sh¡t!?
