I downloaded the Windows Genuine Advantage tool KB905474 about a week ago as
it was a recommended update, however after reading the EULA I decided not to
install it (as it can't be uninstalled and because my copy of XP home though
genuine was preinstalled at manufacturers Iqon and I don't have a disk).
This is what I want to know: How do I get rid of the WGA even though I
haven't installed it yet?
Every time I boot up, I am informed that "updates are waiting to be
installed" I hope this makes sense and is not too long winded.

Simply click on "Decline" when the EULA appears, then choose "do not show
this update again". You do not need a "hack" to do this.

Thank You Carey, I have not yet done this, but it sounds like you know what
you are on about. I will try it the next time I boot up and the message
appears
