An updated version of the "WGA Validation Tool" (KB892130) has been
released, consisting solely of:
LegitCheckControl.DLL version 1.7.36.0
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/892130

This is NOT the "WGA Notification Tool" (KB905474).
See http://support.microsoft.com/kb/905474

Ain't validation wonderful? Doesn't it just give you that warm and fuzzy
feeling inside to know that you're being forced by MS to help them catch
pirates? What happens if you try to validate it? Does it ask again the
next time you go to Windows Updates?

The work around is to get your updates using Auto Updates. Right click
on My Computer/Properties/Automatic Updates and set it to download but
let you decide what and when to install.
