Hi!

What's the 0x800070424 error?

Recently every time that I attempt to access to Windows Update this message
appears into my equipment. Since 1 a week ago I can't access to Windows Update!

Thanks in advance.

0x80070424 - ERROR_SERVICE_DOES_NOT_EXIST

There are two things you can try:-

Courtesy of: Torgeir Bakken (MVP)

See if this helps::
1. Click Start.
2. Choose Run.
3. In the Run box, type (or copy/paste from this post)
regsvr32.exe wuaueng.dll (note the space there in the middle)
4. Click OK.

After the regsvr32 command, start regedit.exe
and locate the key
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Servic es\wuauserv

If you find a DeleteFlag value there, delete the DeleteFlag value.

Here is something to try:

**********
1. open "wordpad"
2. copy this text (below) into the "wordpad"
3. save the "wordpad" file as "IEreg.bat" to your desktop and then "double
click" to launch

Glad it worked for you, and thanks to Torgeir Bakken for coming up with a simple
solution.
