My *current* favorite browser is IE6. I tested IE7 twice (2006 and 2007), each time came back to IE6 after a few weeks - and I don't plan to try again IE7 or even IE8. I often launched as 2nd browser Firefox (that I left at 3.0.7) and Safari (still use it, now 4.0.3), for testing web pages, and for Firebug. But in Mar 2009, FF3.0.7 introduced a terrible backstep; I posted about it on Mozilla forums; but on Sat 6 Jun, nothing had been done to it, so I sadly had to uninstall it, see:

https://support.mozilla.com/tiki-vie...arentId=309213
"FF3.0.7 slower and more intrusive; must I uninstall it?" (Tue 24 Mar 2009)
"I just uninstalled Firefox" (Sat 6 Jun 2009).

Since, it seems that FF continued to get more and more blind and to run into the wall as fast as they could, so I haven't reinstalled it so far.

Why do you need our reasons to make YOUR choice for a web browser?

IE8/XP SP-3 hands down! By far the best browser/OS combination I've ever
used. I've tried FF, Opera and numerous lesser hyped browsers and always
came back to Internet Explorer and currently use IE8.

IF one does the following, IE8/XP performs fast and flawlessly:

Use, and keep current, a good anti-virus (Avast! e.g.), anti-spyware
(SuperAntispyware and Malwarebytes e.g.) and firewall (Windows works fine).
Update IE8 and XP monthly on the Windows update site.

A good bit of the anti-InternetExplorer bloviation comes from the ABM
(anything but MS) crowd.

Looks like the "trolling" worked. You've spent at least a minute of your
life replying to it.
