Whenever I log on, my Quick Launch is back on my taskbar.

I keep telling the taskbar not to show the quick launch icons (as I already
have a sidebar gadget with this functionality, and would like to reclaim the
space for my open programs), but every time I log off and then log back on
or reboot it gets reset to be visible. As is all I have to do is simply
disable it again, but it's getting tiresome; Is there some registry key that
controls this setting, or a shell command that can be used to automate the
process?
