there is no difference in performance in games between the 2.

For a gaming rig, there isn't much difference. The key factor you
should consider is whether you are going with 32-Bit Vista or 64-Bit
Vista. 64-Bit has the advantage because of enforced driver signing which
improves reliability. Vista 64 also support larger amounts of memory,
and has and better memory management which improves speed.

64-Bit computing is the future, and more games are being released that
take advantage of it. It doesn't matter whether you choose Vista Home
Premium or Ultimate, but 64-Bit is the way to go. Just be sure you can
get 64-Bit Vista driver for all you hardware.

You are entitled to both versions 32 and 64 bit, when you get vista, however
only one disk is given to you unless you have ultimate retail, in that case
you have both disks for 32 and 64 bit.

I strongly advise AGAINST installing 64 bit at the moment. Keep away for
some more time until it becomes main stream.

There is a reason that 99 percent of new machines have 32 bit windows on
them!

I forgot to say you can order the other disk (example 64 bit if you already
have the 32 bit one) from MS and use your product key and it will work, the
cost of the disk is shipping and handling.

I have 64 as well, but will it benefit me if I do not have a 64 CPU, given
that my hardware and Software is 64 compatible?

thanks
