Which WSUS Deployment?

Hi All,

I hope you can help me we are looking to deploy WSUS across our
network, which spans many regions. However, I am unsure which
deployment method would best suit us.

Ideally we would like to install a WSUS server in our data centre which
manages the approvals etc, we would then like the WSUS servers in the
regional locations to go to the data centre WSUS server to get a list
of updates that have been approved and download them itself (as opposed
to gettting the updates from the WSUS server in the DC aswell)

As I understand it, the centrally managed deployment method will make
the updates available for all remote WSUS servers to get (increasing
network load in our data centre), and the distributed managed method
gets updates itself, meaning each WSUS server runs 'independantly', not
getting any approval info from other WSUS servers.

Does anyone know if I can do this?

Thanks for your help

Steve
