while adding titles & artists, Vista erases

I have a new computer with Windows Vista and am digitizing audio files from
cassette tapes. When adding titles and artists to several files, a number of
times now, the computer will start to alphebetize the list before I am
finished, then starts to erase all of the data that i have entered. I still
have the files though. I reboot the computer, and can then save a few
entries, then have to reboot again to save a few more entries. Is There any
solution to this kind of problem??
