Do you mean the "Insertion Point" keyboard cursor that indicates where
text will be entered, or the "Mouse Cursor"?

If you are referring to the keyboard cursor, then it may be an
indication of some sort of failure in your keyboard, or there is a
problem with the keyboard drivers. Does this problem happen if you try a
different keyboard?

If you are referring to the mouse cursor, then perhaps the mouse
settings have been changed to automatically move the pointer to the
default button in forms and dialogs. You'll need to check the settings
for this. Or, like with a keyboard, it could be a pending hardware
failure or problem with the driver. Is your mouse operating on a level,
smooth surface?

I'm prepared to bet you are using a laptop with a touchpad. If so, when
typing the heel of your thumb brushes the touchpad and moves the insertion
point. Most of the time you aren't even aware of it.

Frankly it's a bloody nuisance, and you aren't alone in having this problem.
The touchpad driver may have a way of reducing its sensitivity.

If I'm off-base about you using a laptop, please accept my apologies!
