Why all the headache?

Could someone please tell me why Microsoft would release a product knowing
that there are unresolved issues with the product? What is the point of doing
Beta testing if you are not going to find all the bugs, fix them and then
release the product? I'm not trying to be flippant(sp?) here. This is a
serious question. With all the money, man/woman power and brain power
available to Microsoft for R&D, why is it so hard to put out a product that
works from the word go? I don't want to become Microsoft certified in order
to keep my computer running. I shouldn't have to fool with my computers
registry so that I can install an update to fix a problem that they knew
about before they sold it to me. Come on Bill. I thought the whole purpose of
technology advancing was to make our life easier. I want to insert disk and
push play. I'm not talking about dumbing things down. I'm talking about
Microsoft developing their products, making sure they work and then selling
them to us. Interesting concept, huh? Would you care to Beta test that?

Joe, I agree with you.

And what is the point of bringing out a SP that causes as many problems as
it fixes!

And I have it on only one(1) of my computers, merely to help some of my
customers that bought it, thinking it would be an improvement, and easier to
use, than XP.
They are very disillusioned!

From project management's point of view, this one was doomed to fail when it
was reset between 2004 - 2005 but still determined to ship in 2006. That
leaves less than two years for a major project like this one while many were
expecting a five-year development work.

Why is there a constant flow of people going on about "how bad vista is"?

Do you lot remember when XP came out?

It was not till when a couple of SP's came out till XP was known as a good
OS!

And would you like to tell us what your problems actually are, so we can
help you solve them, rather than a completely vague rant?

I liked XP from early Beta to release, and to this day.
Vista I have complained about since early Beta, and to this day.
If I wanted an AOL type program, I'd use AOL.
If I wanted protected from myself, I'd check into the psych ward, not
install a new OS.

You did - many didn't like XP at the beginning.

Some liked ME at the beginning also.

Vista on proper equipment is not a problem. On marginal/inferior equipment
stay with XP (which is MUCH better after 2 service packs and countless
updates since SP2).

Why pay testers when naive users like you will test the product for
free? You've been conned. If you're sick of this crap, check out Ubuntu,
a free Open Source operating system that doesn't have these kinds of
problems. Not only that, compared to Windows, it's bullet proof in
regards to viruses and malware. In addition, it comes with access to
over 23,000 free programs. Check it out at http://www.ubuntu.com/
