Why am I being offer 2007 Office Service Pack 1 when I don't have it?

2007 SP1.

The Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack Service Pack 1 (SP1) is a separate
update and is covered in KB 940289.

Don't want to repeat myself in yet another thread (I've posted in two other
threads on this topic if you want more of my details)...but this is a new
suggestion. Thanks!

I see that the "Office XP Web Components" are indeed a line item that can be
chosen during the manual (i.e. not automatic) setup of both Office XP and
FrontPage XP. I just double-checked both setups in Add/Remove Programs - I
did not select "Web Components" during the initial installation and the
choice remains X'd out today. I must conclude that the Office XP Web
Components are NOT installed on my system. I don't have any of the files
referred to in the KB 940289 article other than MSO.DLL (mine is a 10.x
version, the update refers to a 12.x version).

As for the Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack - it seems to be related to
Office 2007. I never ran such a thing - never heard of it, never downloaded
it, never installed it. I did find three of the files referred to in the KB
937961 article (MSVCM80.DLL, MSVCP80.DLL, and MSVCR80.DLL) - mine are all
v8.0.50727.163 and the KB article refers to v8.0.50727.762.

I'm still being offered the Office 2007 SP1 high-priority update on my
all-XP installation; I've hidden it for now. If no further information
comes to light (anyone?), I will eventually back up my system and apply the
update to see what changes (and if it's not one of the above files I
probably won't be able to tell).
