why compromise? Why not have the best of 2 worlds... by having vista AND an
opensource OS like Ubuntu? (or kubuntu or xubuntu or edubuntu too~!)

you can have vista AND ubuntu with with WUBI, without creating partitions
and without having the GRUB linux boot manager installed!
Thats right, with Wubi you can install Ubuntu from within windows as if it
was a normall program. This is NOT a virtual machine!
The speed of the ubuntu installation is normal since it is like a normal
install...

see this video on how to do it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6CdW6VQV00c
the actual wubi installer for windows is here http://wubi-installer.org

This installer takes away all the hassle and fear.. and you can uninstall
ubuntu from within windows in 30 seconds!

And it is vista compatible...

Guys.. its better to learn and explore.. than hidding away claiming that
Vista is the best OS around.. since we all know that
vista has too many problems. Ubuntu on the other hand is part of the
opensource movement that has evolved very fast and is getting better and
better.

I personally am a windows fan (not vista though since it is very bad). But I
like to learn as much as I can about other OS...

Now I want to find a way to run Mac OSX on my pc.. hehehe...

Priceless quotes in m.p.w.vista.general group:
http://protectfreedom.tripod.com/kick.html

"Fair use is not merely a nice concept--it is a federal law based on
free speech rights under the First Amendment and is a cornerstone of the
creativity and innovation that is a hallmark of this country. Consumer
rights in the digital age are not frivolous."
