can anyone tell me why they changed the installer?

I saw a new service in the services for this...

its kinda scary to install a service in order to install a program! lol

I should imagine they're going to use that installer for some other Live
products

It goes with the new house style created by Windows Live.

Don't you think it looks cool? It is more compact and easy to use, and yes
it will probably be used with other Live products - for example, it is
already being used with the Live Mail (the on your desktop version)
installation.
