Why do I have to install .NET framework SP1 for 1.1

I already have installed .NET framework 2.0.50215 beta but on the update site
it still says that i have to install SP 1 for framework 1.1. How can I avoid
this because tghe installation always fails.

Sometimes that happens especially when Beta is involved.
Try uninstall 1.1 and 2.0.
Make sure all components of both are removed.
Then install the Beta or 1.1, but not both.
If you still have problems with the Beta, contact the source of the Beta for
support.

Thank you for your quick response BUT: 1 uninstalled 2.0 beta. (I already had
uninstalled the 1.1 framework and the SP) cleared as much as possible the
registry, deleted the folder in WINDOWS, restarted the system (XP Pro SP2) and
tried to install 1.1 framework but this wasn't possible due to two errors (
2908 + 1935 - 0x8002802F). Now I don't have any .NET framework. Do you know
how to proceed, or do I have to install the 2.0 beta again ??

In the meantime I have found a workaround on Aaron Stebner's weblog:
1)rename mscoree.dll
2)delete URTemp folder
3)install .NET framework 1.1
and it worked - THANKS

And then I try to install the SP 1 for the framework 1.1 and I got this error:
1305 - error reading from 1172122.msi .......
anyway I have framework 1.1 om my system.
