Greetings,

Is there any way to turn off viewing zipped files in the Folder column in Windows Explorer?

I am using Vista.

If you want to maintain other zip functionality and only prevent display of
zip folders in the Folder pane, use the following regedit:

Navigate to:

[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{E88DCCE0-B7B3-11d1-A9F0-00AA0060FA31}\ShellFolder]

In the right-hand pane, edit the value named 'Attributes', changing it from
0x200001a0 to 0x000001a0.

Dzomlija,

That worked.

But if you'll notice another thread, there is a regedit that will just trun off the display. That is what I am looking for.
Besides, I use WinRar to zip and unzip files.

Thank you.

Keith,

I was unable to find that location. Instead, I found,
\HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CompressedFolder\CLSID

Therefore, I don't it is the same thing.

Thanks
