Why doesn't any of my ps/2 mice work after the new update?

Just recently, both of my ps/2 mice with scroll buttons stopped working
altogether. The USB mouse works fine. When I tried installing the drivers,
using the add new hardware wizard, I couldn't find any mouse or keyboard
ports or drivers listed. I looked for the manufacturer (key tronics) and it
wasn't listed (it didn't come with a disc either). Then I tried a Microsoft
mouse in the ps/2 port, and that didn't work either. I tried restarting it -
that didn't work. I tried installing the latest Intellimouse driver - that
didn't work. And I talked with Key Tronics, and they couldn't see why it
wasn't working on this computer, but it was on the others. So basically, I
think that this last Microsoft update screwed me over. Can anyone help me?
Does anyone have a simliar problem?

I have the same type of issue with my keyboards. On both of my pc's, after
logging out of windows (to the welcome screen) my keyboard will not accept
all inputs. The escape key works, but none of the characthers to type in my
password to logon work. Happens on my wife's pc and mine both. Have to
restart the pc, then my keyboard will accept the letters to login. Happenned
after the last security auto update.

Wow. My problem is way different. I found out that I damaged the port
connection when I took the mouse out of the PC. You got a way more screwy
issue.
