Why? InstLLING ie7?

HELLO,
i PUT A shortcut on my desk to a site from ie7.When I clicked to open it, I
got a box saying it was installing IE7!
I don't know why.
Any ideas and any ideas about what I need to do now that I seem to have a
new install of ie7 which I do not think I needed....
Quite confusing!
