ROFLMAO.. Just because a site says it's product is 100% compatible,
doesn't mean there isn't problems/issues with it. LOL how long have you
been using computers? You need to contact THEIR tech support and figure
out what is going on. Blaming any OS for a third party software problem
is silly. As far as Wine is concerned, it ISN'T actually Vista, and more
than likely you have it set to emulate XP for that program anyway.(?)
While I have, use, and like Ubuntu, it isn't the answer to everything. I
use it for some things, and different flavors of Windows for other
things. "Best of both worlds" is my usage.
So, here is THEIR reference regarding BSOD's, which means they KNOW it
happens:
(
http://support.alcohol-soft.com/en/k...sh++%28bsod%29)
"Blue Screen Crash (bsod)
Q:- After Installing Alcohol i recieve a Blue Screen Crash on my system,
What can the problem be.
A:- Some information concering Blue Screen Crashing can be found here
under Bug Check Code Referance
The information here can be technical and hard to follow if you receive
a blue screen of Death BSOD we suggest that you post or mail us a short
description of your BSOD the circumstances in which it occurred and
include your latest minidump file from C:\windows\minidump.
Our staff can then locate the cause of your BSOD and offer you a
solution ( where possible ) to your problem."
Have you done this? I doubt it...
So, it happens just like any program, otherwise they wouldn't have this
BSOD section. ...And I NEVER read on their site "100% Vista compatible."
They just list Vista as one of the Os's under "System Requirements."
That in it's self is NO 100% guarantee it is Vista compatible. It could
very well be that the program isn't compatible with a component of YOUR
HARDWARE. Who knows, you need to do what they require in order to find
out the cause.
I have had native Linux applications create problems with the Os, so
PLEASE, refrain from, passing Linux off as problem free.. It's NOT!
G'day
