Read this newsgroup and all newsgroups the way they were intended to be
read: with a newsreader, not with a clumsy web interface.

Tell us what version of Windows you are using, and someone will tell you
about the free newsreader Microsoft supplies and how to use it.

There are three posts from you, 8:46, 8:50, and 8:58.

Nothing was blocked.

If OE removed access to an unsolicited file, then the file is problematic
and you should thank OE for saving you. Microsoft will NEVER send you an
email informing you of a patch. Never. Ever. Not in a million years.

If you want to get updates from MSoft, then YOU have to visit them seeking
the update. IF you have Automatic Updates turned ON, then your machine will
go out to MSoft by itself seeking updates IF YOU LEAVE IT ON. But no matter
what else happens in your life, you can be absolutely certain that MSoft
will never ever in a million years bother to send you an email with an
update attached.

People that send a virus, on the other hand ...

Sorry but I do not understand!!!

I post via OE i.e open OE press Ctrl plus W and select a newsgroup from my
"subscribed list".
This is the way I have done it for eight years or more!!!
Today I posted about an email with an "installer93.exe" attachment, by
copying and pasteing the original...it did not get posted
Sent another (shortened a little) it did not get posted

Several hours later sent another much shortened version and this time saw it
listed on this forum.
Minutes later it had a line through it - and said "no longer on server" (I
have seen this message before)
Next minute it had disappeared - if there was something wrong with the
content - would it not be an idea to say why.

Genuine question>>>> why can I not see them listed then?

Why did one get listed and then "disappear", without an explaination??

Many thanks.

That's odd, the timestamps say you posted three times in 12 minutes.

If your connectiion was balking for some reason, then your posts were stored
in your Outbox and all of them went at the same time. You THINK you sent
them because you clicked Send, but they really did not go. Your posts were
not blocked, they did not send. This is a problem with the connection
between you and your news server -- more correctly, a problem with the
server itself. If I'm right, then there's nothing you did to cause the
delay, and nothing you can do to fix it.

That's not entirely true. You can watch the Outbox to be sure it's empty.
When you click Send, the message goes to the Outbox while OE connects to the
news server. The Outbox should be emtpy within a matter of seconds if the
connection is successful. If not, you can close OE and reopen it, this
usually fixes the connection for me. I don't know why the problem happens,
but I'm certain it's not you.

There are three posts from you, this one, a test, and a question about OE
blocking an EXE file. OE blocked the EXE because it recognized a virual
attack. This is OE's version of DANGER, WILL ROBINSON, DANGER (which is a
reference to a computer response in a TV show from the early days of
television).

If you are missing any, then your server is holding out on you. Click away
from this group then click back in and see if the messages come back.

Like black magic, this type of crazy stuff happens now and again on the MS
servers. Don't lose any more sleep over it.

Your recent posts that made it to the MS newsserver and then Google Groups:
http://groups.google.com/groups/sear...IesM&scoring=d

Were any of your posts larger than 100 KB? Did any of them include an
attachment?
