Thank you P A

NO, as far as I can tell, the largest was 3kb (right click on
email>properties.) But that would not explain why the third email was
posted and then removed!!

NO, no attachments...I pasted and copied from the original...although as you
might expect...OE did not include the pictures when sent to you!!!!

MY sent items folder lists..emails that were all sent to this newsgroup:-

email with no subject (sorry...forgot) sent:- 4/12/2009 11:42 <cannot
see listed on newsgroup>
email - installer93.exe email sent:- 4/12/2009 11:55
<cannot see listed on newsgroup>(Same email but with subject added)
email - new net critical patch sent:- 4/12/2009 16:46
<pretty sure this is the one that was posted...had a line put through
it...and then deleted>

I DO NOT mind these "not being posted" for what ever reason...I would just
like to KNOW the reason, thats all.

EMAIL - Test sent:- 4/12/2009 16:50
<first email to remain on server> (sent by me..as I thought I had a problem)

Is it still possible to find out if the first emails arrived, and if so, why
they were not posted (I can understand the reason for the first...as I had
left out the Subject.

Was the second email "with" a subject posted and then deleted without me
seeing.

Why was the third email posted and then deleted.

I don't mind, but just think it would be better to give a reason if email
cannot be posted for any reason.

I did think the email sent to me was a bit dodgey, and even if OE had not
blocked the attachment, I would not have opened the email or attachment.

As I often do...I googled for the "senders address" and for the message body
content...but whereas normally I usually find that other people have
received them also...this time I could not find any info.

The email body look exactly like a genuine MS email or webpage...and the
links on the page opened MS web pages in IE.

So I thought I would post on the newsgroup hoping to find out if anyone had
received one or had some info on what was in the attachment.

It was posted and removed by your servers, our server has it.

I told you already that you have three posts in 12 minutes, but you say they
were posted hours apart. This means you never uploaded the messages, most
likely because your computer could not connect at Send time of the first
message so that message was held until later in your Outbox.

You have two things, one is that you asked why OE blocked a message that
contained an EXE. That EXE was detected as a virus, and OE via Windows
Defender or some other protection scheme, and as a result refused to feed
you the file. The other thing is a connection problem with your news server,
but this is a problem from the server not your machine.

The EXE is supposedly an update from Microsoft, BUT THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE
because MSoft will never send you an update. Never. Ever. You can take it to
the bank that they will not send you an update.

You first post was the question about why OE would block the EXE file in an
email. The second was the Test, the third was the question about why the
posts would be blocked. The posts were not blocked. None of them.

Problem solved.

Sorry, I have no idea why this happened nor can I explain MS's filtering or
removal conditions.

PS: You're not "sending an email" to a newsgroup, you're posting a message.
