Why Windows Live Messenger 2009 is not displaying my contacts?

Hai Dear Fellows!

I downloaded the latest version of Windows Live Messenger along with Windows
Live Essentials and installed it...

It installed successfully but when I signed in my contact list was empty.
Same was the case with Windows Live Mail Desktop. I tried my best to solve
the problem, but nothing. I cleared the contacts cache also. But no output.
Then I jumped back to Windows Live Messenger 8.5.

I shall be highly thankful to you from the bottom of my heart if you solve
this problem....

It seems that we are having the same problem. After I migrated to WLM 2009,
my contact list just appears blank on it. Have you tried signing in with a
different computer running the same version of WLM? My contacts refuse to
appear only in MY computer... lol... (check my last post! "WLM 2009 Contact
List issue", 5/5/2009, just a few posts down on the list). I'll give it
another tries later...
