Enable the File path-column to check if the duplicate songs have the
same path: right-click a column, select Choose columns, and enable File
path.
If these are duplicate songs from two different locations, select
Organize - Manage libraries - Music, and remove one of these locations
from the list. Then, use WMP's Folder view to quickly remove all songs
in the location you just removed: right-click Music on the left, select
Customize navigation pane, and check the Folder-item under Music. Click
OK, and select the newly added Folder item on the left.
If the duplicate songs have identical file paths, then the media library
probably got corrupted. It can be restored through Tools - Advanced -
Restore media library. Note that restoring the library will make you
lose all existing play counts, and possibly ratings too.
