Why wont windows live messenger let me sign in ?

Ive just bought a new laptop its running windows vista home premium everytime
i try to sign into windows live messenger it gives me the error code 80048820
and the extended error code 80048416 im using windows firewall an ive added
wlm to my exceptions but still it comes back with the same error code ive
tried a number of other things that various helpsites have suggested yet
nothing makes a difference i can sign in on web messenger yet i cant sign
into yahoo messeger either is there anyway to solve this problem as i use wlm
a lot ??

I've seen reports of that error caused by incorrect date/time on your
computer ... worth a look. How about if you sign in with another account?

btw, do they not use punctuation marks in Liverpool?

Yeah that worked thanks. Date was a day behind....... And yes we do use
punctuation marks, I was just in a rush yesterday. Thanks again
