why wont wmp11 download?

my computer will not download wmp11 for reasons im not too sure. i paid 20.00
for a media player that says i need windows xp also? why didnt it say that
anywhere before i downloaded it?

What media player are you talking about? (Windows Media Player is available
free of charge.)
