wide screen video monitor problem

My new wide screen video monitor show all images "squatty". Have tried
several techniques, including Appearance and Themes, Settings, graphics
controller software updates. No luck. Any thoughts?

Read the manual (or the big clear cover that came on the front of the
monitor when you bought it) to see what the native resolution is (best
resolution) and set it to that. If you cannot set it to that - chances are
that your video card does not support that resolution and you need a new
video card.
