http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...3&gprid=522131

" Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3). This support for SP3 is
valid until April 14, 2009. For more information about this policy,
visit the Windows XP Support Lifecycle page located at
http://support.microsoft.com/lifecycle/?p1=3223. Availability of chat or
e-mail support differs depending on your geographic location. For
customers residing in North America or Canada, chat and e-mail support
is available.

Some issues may require more advanced support for which there is a
charge. http://support.microsoft.com/gp/Advancedef/ "

If you're in a different geographical location then click the Change
link next to United States.

HI another Sally here; I contacted MS and they told me because I have an OEM
in my Compaq pc that I must contact them.(compaq). They Compaq, could only
tell me my Presario was obselete and suggest I purchase a new CPU. my error
msg is that I do not have window service pack available.. \i386/gdiplus.man
and I should insert a service pack 3 for Windows XP I have Home Edition.

I am a nurses Aide, not a pc information figure outer.my PC is 3 years
old... lol.. where do we go to get some help for this stuff? with out paying
$$ ? when MS offers free support but then not to a compaq user what is up
with that.??

You used the wrong contact information/webpage/phone number:

Free unlimited installation and compatibility support is available for
Windows XP, but only for Service Pack 3 (SP3) and *only until* 14 Apr-09.

• US:
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...3&gprid=522131

• CA:
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...3&gprid=522131

• UK:
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...3&gprid=522131

• AU:
http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...3&gprid=522131

• Other: Go to http://support.microsoft.com/oas/def...spx?gprid=1173 |
select "Windows XP" then select "Windows XP Service Pack 3"

That is not correct. Free unlimited installation and compatibility support
for WinXP SP3 was available from 14 April 2008 thru May 2009. Such support
will cost you US$59 or higher per incident now.

PS: Why are you replying to threads from 2008?
