Some download and others do not because the version is different. If Windows
is checking the software and validation, why does it keep on offering the
same updates over and over again that fail ? I have checked individually new
ones that come out and most fail. I turned off automatic updates because I am
tired of looking at all of the red balls in my installation history. Wake up
Microsoft.

Insufficient information here. We need to know (a) the specific numbers of
the updates that are in trouble, and (b) for each failed update, the error
code associated with it. Click on the red cross for the dignostic
information and error code. Disable any third-party popup-blockers before
doing so.

Robin, 2 updates remain, Two which do not apply to my version, the others I
attempted to download seperately and they failed. No error message, outside
of failed to download or install.

What are the numbers of the updates that will not install? They are
normally KB 6-digit numbers.

In Windows Update, click on "Review your update history", locate the failed
updates in the list, then click on the red cross ("failed"). A pop-up
window should give you an error number and diagnostic information.

Robin, Thank you for your response. Error code 0x8007F007
KB905749,900725,901017 do not apply to my version.
KB899587,899587,899589,899591,893756 after looking at them are not
applicable to what I am using the computer for.So I ignore them. So why do
they keep coming up for download if they fail? Or is there a way of setting
my validated software to ignore these updates?

Error 0x8007F007 = STATUS_CAN'T_FIND_INF
Setup could not find the update.inf file needed to update your system.

Could be an indication that the cryptographic service isn't working properly
See: http://www.updatexp.com/cryptographic-service.html
and http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798
Method 2: Set Cryptographic Services to automatic

If the cryptographic services is okay, perhaps you may need to rename the
Catroot2 folder

see:-You cannot install some updates or programs
http://support.microsoft.com/default...b;en-us;822798
Method 3: Rename the Catroot2 folder
