Been using windows for a looooooong time, been using Vista for a while and
not suffered any major problems or performance issues.

just recently I have noticed some of my shortcuts and folders / files in
explorer show a round circle (green) with a tick inside it superimposed on
the icon.

Windows Vista home premium (no strange add-ons or any exotic programs
installed)

Anyone any idea what this is?

Thanks for the suggestion,

I am using BT Digital Vault but why on earth would it show ticks against
shortcuts for things like dos prompt? It is only on my account, not the eife
or daughter (digi vault also running)

Yes Dave,

Just checked my settings in BT Digital vault and I had accidentally clicked
desktop so why this only chose to "tick" Command prompt and Windows explorer
(even though I created new shortcuts to some other items to see if they were
affected) I have no Idea.

Even though it runs for every user it only displays "ticks" in the user who
set up the autobackup software (chose which files / folders to backup)

Thanks for the suggestion Dave, I was suspecting Groove folder
synchronisation (even though I dont use it, I clicked it and it does have a
very similar icon)

Just adding a line for "search" engines to pick up on

green ticks in a circle start to appear
