Win 2008 registry problem

Hi

Just bought a brand new Win 2008 Server box, and I am having a problem that
the application(s) are unable to save their registry settings.

Firstly, the applications run perfectly when run in 'the' original
Administrator account. Setings are saved and retrieved fine.

But I set up an additional account for normal use and when I try to
configure the apps I get a system message saying I do not have the necessary
privilage to write the configuration settings to the Registry (1314/A
Required privilege is not held by the client). If I run the app 'as
Administrator', then it starts and runs ok but of course it has the
Administrator's configuration, not necessarily what I want for the second
account user.

I have configured the second account as Administrator and I can't see any
difference whatever, apart from user name and password, between the
properties of the genuine Administrator a/c and the new one. I have also
tried running in XP(SP2) legacy mode but without success.

These are in-house apps that have worked perfectly on dozens of XP boxes.
The configuration is saved to:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ SOFTWARE \ MyKey \ MyApp

Many thanks for any suggestions.

Denville.

Hello Denville,
Try posting in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs if it is Small Business Server
Otherwise post to microsoft.public.server.general
