I have purchased a new game and am trying to install it. Autorun will not
engage when I go to the run window or click on autorun on the disc or the
setup exe file on the disc I get a message "D:\Autorun.exe is not a valid
WIN32 application" Why not it was before? How do I get this game to install?

Windows version? What game?

How does your question pertain to Windows Update, please?

David;
There are a few possible reasons for that error:
1. Corrupt data on CD
2. Some necessary program is not previously installed
3. Etc.

Have you contacted the game manufacturer for possible causes and solution?

Since this is a Windows Update newsgroup and this is not a Windows Update
issue, you should post to a more appropriate forum, perhaps on at the game
manufacturers website.
Or possibly:

Thanks for your time, I considered this a windows update question since I
have remained current in my updating for windows XP, in fact I had ran
automatice updates the day before. But it appears this is an incorrect
assumption on my part. Thanks
