Is there a way to get the Windows calendar into the sidebar? It would be more
functional than the other date/time calendars out there.

No. The gadget interface does not let you do that. I was thinking the last
time this question went up, about creating a gadgeted feed to a published
calendar on my local web server, but at all seems a bit much, compared to
simply opening the calendar onto the taskbar.

Yes it is a bit unfortunate that no-one has been able to figure this out. Are
the APi's for the clendar published. I am not a coder, so dont know where to
look.

There is one other things I really would like fixed. Adding birthdays and
anniversaries in "windows contatcs" dont reflect in "windows calendar". I
have seen replies like, birthdays and anniversaries are not appointments or
tasks to show-up in windows calendar. Try exaplaining that to a common user.
Regardless of the technicality involved this is something MS should
implement. It is things like these that make vista half baked, which it is
not, but make you feel.

The other thing that bothers me (not an issue, but feels strange), why doest
windows contact have its own application, why does it open in explorer.
