Win Exp Display settings

I'm running utlitmate x64....
Windows explorer seems to randomly decide what to display and how to display
it. Normally I have the View set to show Name, Date Modified, Type, and
Size. But sometimes I just get Name. Then I reset it and I'll get what I
want for awhile.

I want all of my folders to show the 4 columns, I want detail view, newest
file first. How can I specify this once and for all as a default?

Thanks,
Gary

Paul,
Wow. What a shame. The thousands of people frustrated by this huge bug and
some user has to come up with a hack instead of Microsoft fixing it.

I suppose it's just more food for the mac commercials.
Thanks,
Gary
(I'm still a PC)

Yes, I agree with you. There are a number of things I wish they would fix.

And no matter what fix you use (there are many on the web with
slightly varying flavors), none of them seem to be permanent.
Eventually, at random intervals, your folders reset. The more annoying
part is that it's not just the explorer windows, but also the File
->Open windows that get reset.
