Win update 98SE fails

Cleaning up someones machine that is running WIN98SE. Got rid of
spyware, etc.
Then ran Microsoft February 2004 Security CD. After that was done, went
to Windows Update to complete security updates. Got error message
"Software Update Incomplete" Error code 0x800B0004. Then went to KB
Article Q174360 and did all steps recommended. Still same problem. Have
a WIN 98 machine of my own and this is not a problem on it. Any
suggestions?

Try the troubleshooting steps recommended at the Windows Update
Troubleshooter:
http://v4.windowsupdate.microsoft.com/troubleshoot/
In the "Problem reaching Windows Update" section, click on the link for
"While the Windows Update site is loading, you receive Initialization Error
0x800B0004 or Error 0x800B0003"

Patti,

Thanks for your help. Went to list and found that the re register some dlls was
the answer I needed.
